new work 2019

These encaustic and mixed media paintings combine molten beeswax, damar resin and pigment
with photography, drawing and printmaking.

Specifically, the landscape and microscopic photographs were
gathered at geologically significant places in Iceland, Sweden, Norway, and Idaho,
They are integrated with ink, watercolor, graphite, oil paint, thread,

gold leaf, and neopastel on cradled birch panels..
The printmaking techniques utilized include monoprints (traditional and encaustic),
serigraphy (screenprint), suminagashi ink marbling, drypoint and spit-bite intaglio type etchings.
